At Phocus Daily, your privacy is our top priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app. The short version: we don't collect, upload, or have access to any of your photos. Everything happens locally on your device.
What Information We Collect
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Phocus Daily stores the following data only on your device:
- Streak Data: Your current streak count and review history
- Review History: Which photos you've already reviewed (references only, not the photos themselves)
- App Preferences: Your settings and customization choices
- Daily Progress: Whether you've completed your daily 10-photo review
This data is stored using iOS's built-in local storage and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- β Your photos or images
- β Your photo metadata (location, date, camera info)
- β Your name, email, or contact information (unless you email us for support)
- β Your device's unique identifiers
- β Your location data
- β Any personally identifiable information
Photo Library Access
Phocus Daily requires access to your photo library to function. Here's what you need to know:
- Why we need it: To display photos from your camera roll for you to review and organize
- What we do with it: Photos are read from your device's photo library and displayed in the app. When you swipe to delete, the photo is moved to your iPhone's "Recently Deleted" folder (standard iOS behavior)
- What we DON'T do: We never upload, copy, or transmit your photos to any server, cloud service, or third party. All photo processing happens 100% locally on your device
- You're in control: You can revoke photo library access anytime in iOS Settings, but the app won't be able to function without it
How We Use Your Information
The minimal data we store locally is used solely to:
- Provide core app functionality (track which photos you've reviewed)
- Maintain your streak count and motivate daily usage
- Remember your app preferences and settings
- Ensure you don't see the same photos twice in reviews
We do not use your data for marketing, advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
Third-Party Services
RevenueCat (Premium Features Only)
If you choose to subscribe to premium features, we use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and payments. RevenueCat may collect:
- Purchase and subscription information
- Device and app usage data related to subscriptions
- Anonymous identifiers for subscription management
Important: RevenueCat is only active if you subscribe. Free users are not tracked by RevenueCat. Your photos are never shared with RevenueCat or any third party.

Apple App Store
When you download Phocus Daily, Apple may collect standard app store analytics. We have no control over or access to this data. Refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details.
Data Storage and Security
All data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store user data. Your information is protected by:
- iOS's built-in security features and encryption
- Your device's passcode/biometric authentication
- Apple's sandboxed app environment (apps can't access each other's data)
Since we don't collect or store data on external servers, there's no risk of data breaches, hacks, or unauthorized access from our end.
Your Rights and Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete all data: Simply delete the Phocus Daily app from your device. This removes all stored preferences, streak data, and review history instantly
- Recover deleted photos: Photos you delete through the app go to your iPhone's "Recently Deleted" album and can be recovered for 30 days
- Reset your streak: You can reset your streak anytime in the app settings
Since we don't store data on our servers, there's nothing to request from usβall your data lives on your device.
Children's Privacy
Phocus Daily does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app:
- Doesn't require account creation
- Doesn't collect names, emails, or contact information
- Doesn't transmit photos or personal data
- Operates entirely locally on the device
Parents can feel confident that their children's photos and data remain private and secure on their own devices.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make changes:
- We'll update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page
- For significant changes, we'll notify users through an in-app message
- Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy
We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.
International Users
Phocus Daily is available worldwide. Since all data is stored locally on your device and we don't operate servers, there are no international data transfers or jurisdictional concerns. Your data stays with you, wherever you are.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you're a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). However, because we don't collect, sell, or share personal information, these rights don't apply in a traditional sense:
- Right to Know: We don't collect personal data beyond what's stored locally on your device
- Right to Delete: Delete the app to remove all local data instantly
- Right to Opt-Out: We don't sell personal information (we don't have it to sell)
